One lovely looking raw dessert is a pear cake made simply by combining three basic layers: a crust, a cream filling and some decorations on top as I am showing you in many of the other raw dessert recipes that I am bringing you to experiment with. This one is both sweet and sour and it has a lovely texture given by the cream filling and it is also a fulfilling choice for pretty much anyone because, as we know, raw foods came packed with all their nutrients intact and with all their enzymes working for our digestive systems, making them really easy to absorb and to feed ourselves proper nutrition.
Starting with the first layer, the crust, here are the ingredients:
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup cold pressed gluten free oat flakes
1/4 cup golden/brown raisins
1-2 Tbs agave nectar
1-2 Tbs coconut oil.
Mix well the ingredients and then press them into a cake form to get a nice shape for the delicious food that we are making.
Secondly, we have the cream filling, which in this case is made of the following:
1 cup pear, chopped
1/4 cup golden/brown raisins
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1-2 Tbs agave nectar
1-2 Tbs coconut oil.
Finally, after pouring the cream filling on top of the crust, we decorate the cake with a slice of a ripe pear, cut right in the middle, some raisins and also a little cinnamon for a spicy flavor.
Lovely and great in any season, a pear cake is a very good nutritional choice, especially because of it`s low glycemic index, which means that your sugar levels are safe, no sugar spikes that your body has to deal with, it is also a great source of veggie protein in the form of sunflower seeds and also a nice looking recipe, making it a good choice for kids` meals to.
