Carrot Crackers

Raw and vegan crackers are absolutely delicious, sometimes crispy and crunchy, other times spicy and adorable, those savory goodies go well with raw soups, pates and other veggie creams. Basically it all starts with a mix of nuts, seeds and seed flours and then we add some veggies or some spices or even both and using a dehydrator or the oven at a very low temperature we have our crackers ready to be eaten in no time.

Here we have some carrot pumpkin seeds crackers which are lovely tasting and a very fulfilling food choice and also some simple crackers with only a mix of seed flours and some nutritional yeast flakes.

The basic ingredients for this crackers are:

1/2 cup soaked flax seeds

1/2 cup flax seed flour

1/2  cup coconut flour

1/2 cup rice flour

1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes

himalayan salt

1/2 cup seed mix to decorate.

For the carrot crackers we also add:

1-2 tbs turmeric powder

1/2 cup shredded carrot

2-3 tbs pumpkin seeds.

We mix the ingredients well, adding also some water, about 1/2 cup to 1 cup, until it makes a thick consistency which we then spread into the dehydrator trays or baking thins if using the oven at low temperature, also cutting it into squares or other shapes of our choice. After a while, depending on which method we use for dehydrating the crackers, those crunchy spicy delights are ready and we can taste a bite of this delicious goodness. Eating them with some cashew pate or almond pate with olives, dried tomatoes, a nice salad and some sprouts is a simple way to enjoy nature`s foods in wonderful looking recipes.
