
There are many fulfilling and affordable options that we can take into consideration when looking for healthier food choices and also good tasting ingredients. One great example of an easy-to-use, easy to find and start incorporating into our daily food menus are cereal flakes in their whole form, like for example oat flakes which are a great source of fiber and nutrients. Considering the fact that they are usually grown with other cereals that contain gluten, which is a food allergen, it is best to go for the gluten free version if you are in doubt whether you are allergic to gluten or not. Better safe than sorry.
Oat flakes are mostly known as a breakfast cereal idea, but they also go well in raw vegan cookies or cakes or other vegan desserts. Easy to use and easy to be found on the market place you can alao try oat flour, oat milk and other vegan delights.
Another use for oat flakes cand be including them in making some breads, crackers or even veggie balls.
Today we are talking about making a raw cake by using oat flakes, vanilla, Brazil nuts and many other goodies.

First we have the crust, which is made of the following ingredients:
1 cup almonds
1 cup oat flakes
1 cup dates
Vanilla
2-3 Tbs coconut oil
A few brazil nuts for taste.
We put those ingredients into a food processor and mix them until we have a crunchy, thick consistency that sticks together. We put it into a cake form and spread well.
Next step is making the cream filling by mixing the following ingredients in a blender:
1 cup cashews
1 cup water
Vanilla
3-4 Tbs coconut oil
3-4 Tbs agave nectar.
When it is done we pour it on top of the crust, leaving 2-3 tbs of this cream to make a chocolate glaze by mixing it with cacao powder. We put some raisins and mix them with the cream filling and then we pour the chocolate glaze on top and sprinkle with some cacao nibs. Now we can leave it in the freezer for a few hours and when in is done we can take it out and slice it.
