Peas are a great source of concentrated proteins and also a delicious choice for a healthy vegan spread. In this recipe that I am showing you today I used yellow peas and it was actually the first time I tried those kind of peas. I used to really like green peas when I was little and then I rediscovered those delicious veggie protein sources some years later after going vegan. I think they taste delicious.

Yellow split peas are a wonderful source of dietary fiber, a rich source of energizing complex carbohydrates, vitamin B 1, phosphorus, calcium, potassium which promotes healthy arterial circulation, etc. Yellow split peas are also a great source of tryptophan  needed for manufacturing serotonin, which is used in order to regulate mood, appetite, hunger and sleep. This being said I guess that now you would like to give these peas a try and see for yourself how amazing they are for building a strong, healthy and fit body.

For this recipe we need to soak and prepare our peas first. You can either sprout them or cook them. If you choose cooking them they should be ready in about 30 min. For sprouting them just put them in water first for a few hours and then drain the water and just rinse them gently 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days and then they should be just about right. When you have got your peas ready, put them in a blender, add some nutritional yeast flakes, 1/2 cup of water or more if needed and some coconut oil. Blend them until smooth and then put this lovely veggie spread in a nice bowl.

The final step is to decorate our delicious pea spread with some oregano, some yellow split peas and some cold pressed sunflower seeds oil. You can also add some dried tomatoes when serving them with a delicious salad on the side and this spread is ready to be served.
