Spirulina is a wonderful source of protein and lots of good and delightful nutrients for our bodies and minds. Spirulina is a wonderful thing to add to a morning smoothie, some raw vegan bars or even to things such as veggie spreads and raw vegan cakes. I love to use spirulina for delicious morning smoothies and I think that it is just wonderful for our overall health. Spirulina has a little bit of a bitter taste but when mixed with things such as bananas or dates, that is not going to be a problem anymore. The most fascinating thing about spirulina is the wonderful color that it gives to any smoothie that we decide to add it to. Yum!

For this delicious spirulina smoothie I have decided to mix the following ingredients:
1-2 tbsp spirulina powder
1 cup almond milk
1 banana
5 dates
1/2 cup baby spinach.
I used a blender to mix them well and then when it gets all smooth and creamy you can take it our of the blender and pour this delicious beauty into a jar or glass of choice. For a little bit more delight I also added 3 tbsp of chia seeds to my smoothie and stir them well. Finally I decorated it with some coconut flakes and some dried cranberries and the smoothie is ready to go. Or to simply be enjoyed at home as a delighting morning breakfast.
