It is a beautiful day and it is about time to share some more delicious raw vegan goodness. I love to use oat flakes for all kinds of recipes simply because they are so healthy and fulfilling, making life so easy, especially when you are on the go. I think that of course there are many options of cereal flakes or nut flakes that we can use for our delicious raw vegan recipes, but the most important thing is for those flakes to also be fulfilling and have an amazing taste. So when it comes to oat flakes, for me personally, oat flakes are simply the best choice that I could make, just because I love them so much. Today is all about delicious and fulfilling out flakes, as I have already said and also about healthy and fulfilling desserts, because living a healthy, happy and fulfilling life includes also mindful servings of delightful and nutritious desserts. YUM!

There are going to be two types of oat bars in this recipe, but the only difference between the two of them is actually the cacao powder, so one type of oat bar has cacao powder and is going to have a chocolate flavor and the other one we are just going to leave as it is and it is going to have a sweet, caramel like flavor.

For this recipe we are going to use the following ingredients:

2-3 cups oat flakes

1 cup dates

1 cup nuts of choice (I used walnuts)

orange zest

cinnamon

3-4 tbsp coconut oil

some chopped walnuts, coconut or corn flakes and any other ingredients of your choice for the final toppings.

First we are going to use a food processor in order to make our delicious oat bars and we are going to add all the ingredients, with the exception of the toppings, to the food processor and process them until we get a thick and sticky consistency. When our dough for the oat bars is ready, then we take half of it out of the food processor and we mix the other half with some cocoa powder. Depending on how much of a dark chocolate flavor you want it to have, you can add more or less of the cacao powder. When both of our oat bar doughs are ready, we can shape our bars by putting them in a square pan or any other form of choice. We can leave them in the fridge for a while to firm up.

Next step is going to be making our creamy and delicious chocolate glaze for our oat bars. For the chocolate glaze we are going to use the following ingredients:

3-4 tbsp cacao powder

3-4 tbsp agave nectar

3-4 tbsp coconut oil or cacao butter

cinnamon powder.

We stir together all the ingredients by using a mixing bowl, or of course we can also use a blender for this step and mix them until they reach a smooth and creamy consistency. Now, we can pour the chocolate glaze on top of our beautiful and nutritious oat bars.

Final step is going to be adding our delicious and crunchy toppings and sprinkle them on top of our bars. Those bars can be served right away or they can be stored in the fridge for a few days. The bars can be enjoyed as a healthy dessert or even as a healthy snack, on the go, or as a morning energy boost. The oat bars are absolutely delicious, they taste fantastic and you are definitely going to just love them.
