Mornings are a great moment to nourish our bodies with some delicious and nutritious raw foods. I love to use lots of fruits and greens for my morning meals and I also love to prepare delicious juices and smoothies for my morning meals, simply because they are so easy and simple to make and also a great energy boost for when our bodies are just waking up from some well deserved sleep. Smoothies are so easy to digest and our bodies are then easily able to extract the nutrients that make us feel so good and alive. While fruits are a great source of carbohydrates and provide lots of vitamins and minerals to our smoothies, they are also great simply because fruits can make pretty much any smoothie taste absolutely amazing by making it deliciously sweet and tasty. By adding some greens to our smoothies we are increasing even more the benefits of serving a smoothie as an enegizing and nourishing meal, while also providing very good quality plant based proteins and lots of other good stuff that just make our bodies thrive.

This being said, here are the ingredients that we are going to need in order to make an absolutely tasty, delicious and fulfilling green smoothie that can be served both as a delicious breakfast as well as a nourishing snack:
2 bananas
1/2 sliced pineapple
1/2 cup chopped celery stalks
1 small piece of ginger
1 cup of water
1/2 cup – 1 cup baby spinach leaves or romaine leaves
spirulina powder.
We use a blender to mix all the ingredients together until they reach a creamy and smooth consistency. When our beautiful and delicious smoothie is ready, we can take it out of the blender and pour it into a nice cup or glass of choice and enjoy it right away. This smoothie can be kept for about one day in the fridge, but it is best to be served right when it is made in order to fully benefit from its vitamin boost and enjoy all its beneficial properties that are just great for our health.
