I think that sometimes we might be finding ourselves in situations where there is some sort of pressure to be eating certain types of food or even to be eating at all. We do have to understand that we are all diffrent and while we all need food in order to survive there may be many different types of patterns that people can choose from when it comes to eating habbits. Especially when people decide to make some choices in their eating habbits that are somehow appart from what is considered to be normal or the norms, we might encouter some sort of resistence from our fellow human beings that we get in contact with since what we are doing is different and they just want to maybe understand why we might be choosing to do things differently. While it is a wonderful idea to share our discoveries with the world, there is no need for judgement or for being affraid that we would have to fulfill somebody else expectations, especially when those expectations do not resonate with our own view of the world.
It might seem hard to say no to someone when is offering something to us or when it is insisting on us pursuing a so called normal or expected behavior such as social eating, but lets remember that food is the fuel that feeds our bodies, so we all have our own unique pattern and rhythms of our own and that also being social is about connecting with other people and creating meaningful experiences out of those interactions. So, be it bonding over food, or without food, the key element in social experiences is bonding with other people and not necessarily the food in itself, even though of course, food can also be seen as means for bonding and catching up with other people. I think that even if we do decide to choose different eating patterns than the ones that the culture we are living in is seeing as normal, we can still have amazing interactions with the people that we connect with. It is all about being honest, nice and kind to each other in order to be able to respect our differences as well as our common points.
Eating is such a beautiful place for a meaning and beautiful conversation between amazing, open minded human beings and can be a great starting point for embracing healthier lifestyle choices that can contribute to our growth as well as our well being. The choices that we make do matter and we get a chance to make healthy and aware choices each and every single day of our lives. By choosing kindness and compasion we open ourselves up for amazing kind and compasionate opportunities to unfold in our beautiful lives, on a day to day basis.
