Organic food is a wonderful choice that we can make for our own overall well-being and health, simply because when we choose organic produce, then we are actually supporting and contributing to the growth of a specific sector of agriculture and produce chain at the same time. It means that we are investing our money in healthy produce, free from pesticides and all kinds of chemicals that might be found in produce that is not certified organic. So why is organic better? It is not only about our own health and well-being, but also the health and well-being of the entire planet as well as all of the people involved in this production and distribution chain. As always I encourage you to do your own research as well and see what resonates with you in order to be able to make healthy, balanced and informed choices at all times.

Agriculture is just one part of the process, which means that by buying organic produce, local (when possible) and natural, certified by specific regulatory systems, then we are making a considerable step towards a healthier planet and a healthier practice for the agriculture field. So many chemicals are being used to make produce look better and more shiny and perfect, but when it comes to health, it is also what is on the inside that matters as well, not just the outer look. So this means that when we choose healthy grown produce, then we are truly nourishing our bodies with amazing nutrients, we are supporting a healthier food production and distribution system and we are also contributing to the wealth and well-being of the people involved in those chaing of food production as well. So it is definitely a win win situation after all. We get to eat healthy produce and the farmers get their fair share. Everybody gets to live a better life in the end.

Many times people might think that organic is just a fancy name put on products to justify a bigger price and that it would be another form of manipulation over the masses. While there are sometimes situations in which just because a product is organic doesn`t mean that it is natural or healthy as well (such as organic sugar), there are certain criteria to define each one of them, but when we are talking about fresh, plant based produce such as veggies, greens, fruits, nuts and seeds, there have been made many studies that proved that organic is better, simply because those plants are more nutritious and more abundant in vitamins and minerals, because they are grown in such a natural and non harming way. We do have to use our own awareness and ask ourselves at all times if something is resonating with our beliefs and if it is worth our time, money and dedication to find that out, and then we are definitely going to find the answers that we are looking for. As for organic produce, just like I mentioned already, my belief is that fresh produce is definitely a healthy choice and a more nutritious one as well.
