Acai berries are a wonderfull super food from Brazil, but they can be found nowadays all over the world in many shapes and formats. I personally use acai powder, which is great and really easy to use as it makes a wonderful addition to all kinds of delicious, healthy and nutritious raw vegan recipes. Acai berries are a great nutrient dense food choice, low in sugar and they come packed with amazing benefits for our health such as: they are filled with antioxidants, which are great for neutralizing the damaging effects of free radicals to our bodies, they are great for our brain functions and may even help with cholesterol levels or even for people fighting with various diseases. Acai berries are definitelly a fountain of health and when used along with a healthy, balanced diet at all times, they can also contribute to an even better health and more fulfilling life.

Today`s recipe is a healthy dessert recipe: acai balls. Making healthy desserts is great both for our desire for something sweet as well as for our overall health, as raw vegan desserts are actually healthy and nutritious for our bodies and they really do our bodies good. For this recipe we are going to use the following ingredients:
1-2 tbsp acai powder
1 cup of a mix of dates and raisins
1 cup of a mix of cashews and coconut flakes
3-4 tbsp coconut oil
some more coconut flakes and some cacao nibs to sprinkle on top of our delicious acai bowls when we are serving them.

We are going to use a food processor to mix all the ingredints together until we get a sticky and thick consistency and then we take this mixture out of the food processor and make our balls or shapes of choice so that we can be able to serve this delicious goodness in whatever form pleases us best. YUM!
