Going Vegan Part 2: How?

Last week I have shared with you my own whys for going vegan since it is the beginning of an amazing new year and I believe this could also be a wonderful start for trying out veganism, especially for people who might have been thinking of it for a while already. Going vegan is a process of unlearning and questioning what we think we know about food and maybe even life in general and decide to do our own research and find perhaps something that might make us feel better as well as contribute to the well being of the planet and everyone else, everything else, every being that lives on the planet and so on. Ok, so lets say that you have decided to go vegan for a while and see how it fits into your own life, always remember it is a lifestyle so give your self that time you know you need to be able to get familiar with it, but now there is another question that comes up: how do you do it? How do people go vegan? Again this is my own view on the subject so feel free to take on whats resonating with you and leave out what doesnt.

From a mindset perspective, there is required for us to do something for a while in order to become used to it and even be able to call it a routine or a habit. When making such important changes, such as going vegan, progress is always better that perfection. So, do your best to keep your self on track, start small, be excited and keep moving forward toward reaching whatever you desire in relationship to this topic. Add some greens, eat more fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, its all that simple and we have all heard it before, but the secret to success is always consistency. Choose one thing that helps you transition into this lifestyle and make it a daily practice. Be sure that it is something that is good and that is also making you feel good. In order to have momentum and keep doing something for the long run, we have got to like it or at least be able to understand its benefits for building long lasting happiness, well being as well as a strong sense of fulfillment and balance.

When it comes to the practical side, maybe you have been thinking of getting yourself all kinds of kitchen appliances just to make it work. Again, the same applies here: start small, progress is better than perfection so get some equipment that you will be definitively using very often so that you can ease into the journey, but leave the last for later to see if you still feel like needing it after a while. What I personally recommend would be getting yourself a blender. Just invest whatever amount you can afford so that you can make sure that you have this great piece of equipment right by your side at any time. A blender is great as it helps you make all kinds of recipes from smoothies and soups to veggie spreads and of kinds of delicious goodies. It really is that great. Still, if you do not have a blender at the moment, cant get one or find yourself without a blender at any time along your beautiful journey always remember that you can still use a fork and a knife to make yourself a beautiful salad, even puree a banana and mix it with other goodies to make a great dessert and chop pretty much any thing and still have a super delicious and nutritious dish to serve anywhere you are.

This being said, I would like to emphasize once again that what I think are the most important things along this journey of becoming vegan: progress not perfection, consistency, starting with small steps and steady steps and setting some clear goals of where you are heading to along this journey, knowing and understanding why is this important and why it is good for you as an individual as well as for the well being of all and the planet itself. Going vegan can seem hard or its benefits might sometimes be thought as being overrated, but the truth is that we are the only ones responsible for our own bodies, our health and our own well being and by creating some changes, results do show up. We do feel good and we do feel like we are beautifully contributing to the greater good by choosing to engage and support industries and activities that also do good, so that we can than be able to walk ourselves into a way of living healthy, balanced and fulfilling lives that are not also contributing to the healing of our own selves but also to the healing of the world itself.
