What I Eat in a Day

More then ten years since I have started the journey towards vegetarianism, more then five years since I have been fully dedicated to a vegan lifestyle and along the way many things have changed. Sometimes, usually right after New Years celebrations, so basically when the old year is gone, and a new one is coming by, I do take a few moments to contemplate on my current lifestyle, to be grateful for how far I have already come and of course to just simply be grateful for all the amazing wonders and gifts that this wonderful lifestyle has brought me along the way. Of course I do have a regular gratitude practice, but this is more like an overview. So this year its a very powerful and special one and as I regularly do, I have decided to share with you once more what I eat and how I eat in a day. Somethings have changed, which is absolutely normal, some things remained the same, but as always, the most important thing in life is to stay in tune with our true selves and listen to ourselves, our inner truths in order to be able to live life to its fullest in a healthy, balanced and sustainable way.

In the last two years I would say that I have not been so much into desserts and I have discovered that I no longer enjoy having desserts every day, even though the vegan goodies are healthy and fulfilling, it just took listening to myself to discover that I need to change something about it. Another this about the last year is that I started to integrate protein powders and more healthy fats into my diet which has been really useful and super filling for my appetite. Another new thing would be starting to use MCT powder and MCT oil, of course, as you already know from the blog, I just love all about coconuts and MCT is just super concentrated coconut goodness, it boosts energy levels, its a healthy source of fats and it also simply tastes divine. I now usually have proteic shakes, with berries, bananas and MCT oil or powder, or a chia pudding with coconut butter for breakfast, or of course any variation of that kind, such as green smoothies with avocados, greens and citrus juice, sometimes even some packed super greens powder for an even bigger energizing kick in the morning, and then for lunch I would just have the main course, a salad or a vegan or raw vegan dish, and only a few times lets say 2-3 times per week maybe I will also have dessert or something sweet after the main meal.

When it comes to the structure and timing of my meals, I am still finding that two meals per say, with occasional variations depending on what I do and how much energy I am consuming, to be the best fit, not only for my schedule, but also for how my body works best and how it actually processes nutrients so that I can get the best of it. If I eat to many meals its just not so fun for me. I like to have two meals per day because then I get to feel really in tune with my own internal rhythm and to just live life to its fullest. I allow anywhere in between 4 hours and 6 hours between breakfast and lunch and I would say that my eating intervals are somewhere between 10 and 12 for breakfast and between 2 and 4 for lunch. The exact hours depens on the season, but also on the flow of the day itself and sometimes there might even be slight difference based upon what I ate within the previous day or just whether I am traveling, or its weekend or vacation and stuff like that. But on a weekly basis, yes, there is a constant structure and I love to plan and prepare my meals in advance to maximize my productivity and to make sure I have all prepared for a healthy, balanced and fullfulling meal, no matter what unfolds or how the day goes by.

Since the begging of my amazing journey towards becoming raw vegan, healing myself and learning to take great care of myself, which is of course, also an ongoing process of self discovery and self mastery, its been such a wonderful thing to be able to learn about the things that work best for me as a unique individual, to stay true to my self and my body and to just learn to listen to my body and act accordingly. Sometimes, the mind may generate some ideas, but the body may say something else, and the other way around, and that happens especially when we have been living disconnected our entire lives, but the good news is that we can always tune back in and awaken our inner wisdom in order to be able to receive amazing guidance and live our lives to the fullest. It may take a while, but the journey of self discovery, of tunning into our selves and living our lives in a truthful and meaningful way is always worth it, its all such an amazing and divine journey, and it is what matters most. Being and staying true to ourselves, always, at all times is all about connecting to our inner wisdom and following through upon this amazing guidance and then we are going to be able to live life to its fullest in a happy, healthy, balanced and sustainable way.
