I just love daily movement and I just love and absolutely adore my daily yoga practice. Yoga is a wonderful tool and practice for nourishing both the body and the soul, and in connection with other amazing mindfulness and consciousness tools such as breathing techiniques or exercises and meditation is just such a helpful practice to have under our belt in today`s society and especially in today`s day and age. It just helps us move our bodies, release stress and tension from the body and get back into a state of balance, wellbeing and thriving health. It is trully and fully amazing! We all have hard days, or had times in our lives and working towards establishing regular practices that can help us when we find ourselves in challenging situations is definitely going to pay off. Life is such and awesome and amazing journey and sometimes all we need it to just take some time for ourselves, make a pause, take a deep breath and tune in to our inner truth, our inner guidance to just be ourselves again. Yoga, meditation and breathing are amazing tools that can totally facilitate the way towards not only reconnecting with ourselves and our truth but also living by our truths and in the light of our inner truth. It all about finding the right format, finding the right mentors as well in the beggining, be them in the online world or offline world, there is a plenty of resourses out there just waiting to be discovered and integrated into our lives.
Soon, I will be celebrating 5 years of daily yoga, it all started in May 2017, and since then, it has been a regular daily practice. I have done yoga before that moment but I would not call it a regular practice. I did like it, but I just kept going back and forth, until finally in 2017 I decided that I want to make it a daily practice by starting small and buiding my practice gradually. It all started with 20 – 30 minutes per day, mostly in the morning and the benefits just started to unfold immediatly. I was already tuned in to journaling so I just linked the yoga practice, a new habit in formation, to another habit that was already consolidated to go together, and yes they felt and continue to feel amazing together. Over the years my practice constatly grew and improved to 40 min up to 1 hour per day and then in the last six months I made another change and decided to have 2 yoga sessions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each of them around 30 – 40 min and it feels just great, especially on those days when life just happens, something challenging has been brought to my attention is just good to know that my yoga practice is literaly there to have my back. Of course, just like with any other habit, it took some time to make this a regular practice, but now I can confidentluy say that it is pretty much an automated process, I just love doing it on a daily basis and I do it because it feels so good to take some time to reconnect to myself.
Looking forward I would say that yes, I do want to continue with my daily practice and my next goal related to this amazing practice would be to include more yoga by myself, so to speak. Over the years I have done both guided yoga and yoga by myself, I have learned the basics and more than that, but mostly I have been focused lately on guided practices. There have been times when I was doing them both and it felt pretty great, but for a while I just felt its better to do it guided. Now, I feel its time to reintegrate the yoga by myself sessions, I have done a few, but slowly, gradually I am really looking forward towards integrating more and more of them. There are amazing benefits to both kinds of practices, for me its all about how I feel that I might react to it, or how it might serve me at a specific moment in time and space. When I feel like I want to be guided, like its been lately, I choose guided practices and when I feel like I want to express my own creative yoga flow I do the yoga by myself type of practice. I am sure that with time and constant practice, learning and flow we are able to implement any changes of nuances to the practices that we love the most, for myself, I am sure that with time I will be able to integrate more self yoga practices if this is what I want the most. Either way, yoga practice on a daily basis is such a blessing and such an amazing tool to be living my life by, its a source of inspirations and of course a channel through which I feel I can reconnect to my truth and live by that truth on a day to day basis.
