Creative Work

My own journey with creativity has been a challenging one. It still is, of course, an ongoing process, but so much has changed over the years, hopefully in a good way and for that I am deeply and trully grateful. Today I am going to share with you some insights, that I found pretty useful, and some things that I have learned and found to be really supporting along the way towards manifesting my creativity through the right means and processes and sometimes just simply allowing my creativity to exist and breathe as a part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Honestly I have been pretty affraid of the idea of creativity and creative works for quite a while and most importantly I have been really triggered of the idea of how an artist would be defined, of course under specific circumstances and in specific social, artistic or academic circles. I never really liked the idea of the artist as being a person who waits for inspiration and does nothing as a part of welcoming it, I also never really resonated with the more prozaic deffinitions or associations between creativity and altered states of minds, be them due to divine inspiration or consumption of specific substances with potential effects of ones mind and body. I just felt left out, while trying to fit in. I have studied media, meaning, fotography, editing, filming and montage as a part of my academic degree. I somehow managed to get my bachelor in film arts, but for the master degree I am still not convinced yet by the practices and the norms of the academic medium. Its been hard for me to adapt to those things, and somehow make my way through them while staying true to myself, but also just try to get things done. In the end, somehow it worked, somehow I did managed to find my way withing the system. Sometimes, if we try to fit into the norm, we only end up discurraged or depressed because we can literally see no way to make it work for us, and that is ok, we just have to find our own way.

The most important lesson that I have learned over the past 10 years (it took me 6 years to get my bachelor, even though the studies only lasted for 3 years, I still needed another 3 years to make my own way through the process, its been 2 years for the master and then, since then, its been another 2, almost 3 years now, since I finished the master, but I haven`t got my degree yet, its still on hold somehow) is to just learn to embrace the lessons, but also stay true to ourselves and our own unique journeys as much as possible. Things are constantly changing and evolving, new fields are being embraced and discovered, new techniques are constantly emerging and in this day and age, it becomes even more important to not only focus on mastering the lessons and the learnings that we might receive, but also shape those so that they can serve our own unique and amazing visions for how we might want to express ourselves creatively, and also keep in mind the ideea that just because something has not been made until now or has not been made a specific way until now does not mean that something is impossible or that we should loose our faith. When we leave space for the unknown and uncertain to unfold, amazing things will follow. Sometimes we just need to take that leap of faith in order to be able to welcome into our lives the thing that is the best expression of our own amazing and unique creative expressions. What is really creativity or to be creative? We might be finding ourselves asking this question at specific times in our lives and in our existences and the truth is that we are all creative and talented, we all have our own unique and amazing gifts and the more we allow ourselves to share those gifts with the world, the more fulfilled we are going to feel, the more goodness we will bring into the world. Set yourself free and embrace creative outcomes as a part of your true self and of living in sync with your truth and your true self!
