Holiday Goodies: Vegan Magazines

My own journey towards becoming and being vegan started slowly and gradually around the age of 18 years old. By that time I was already going through lots of changes, adaptation attemps and of course the teenage rollercoaster years. I was starting to become more and more interested in personal wellbeing, mental health and of course fitness. I did not really have a community or people to reffer to or share my newfindings of that time with, and that was hard but it did not stop me, it only made me stronger and more and more commited to embracing the vegan lifestyle journey. Looking back now, I wish I had some like minded souls to share my discoveries and my entire journey with, some minds that I resonated with and so on and so forth, but instead I mostly had people around me who did not really understand what it meant or why I was doing it in the first place.

Nowadays, we have so many resources like magazines and books, online communities, live events and so on and so forth that can be wonderful opportunities for meeting new people, like minded people who are also interested in this case in the wonders and beauties of living a conscious and compassionate vegan life. I love for example the VegNews magazine from US, I discovered the website a few years ago and I find the information available there and all the resources really and trully amazing. This year I also got some paper issues and they are indeed just wonderful, I love reading things on paper, so in this case it was double joy. Vegan celebrations and infos as well as a good, cozy read for winter. I am even considering getting a subscription now that it is also available outside CA and US.

I hardly found in the last 12 years, since my own journey with the vegan lifestyle initially started, any local magazines, but I did find lots of resourses like blogs, vlogs and of course, my favorite: books on this amazing topic. Therefore I would say that somehow I have created a virtual community of my own, and of course with the passage of time more and more people have become interested in at least trying vegan options if not becoming vegan themselves and I find this theme absolutelly fascinating. Its a constantly changing and growing world and even though it may not be always easy of affordable, I am confident that we can find the resources within ourselves and around us to turn it into a sustainable lifestyle if that is what we really want to and what we really resonate with as a matter of personal lifestyle and wellbeing choices that we make.

On the other hand, there is this ideea of a community on a global level that arrises as well when we are reffering to all kinds of platforms, be it a magazine, website, blog, youtube channel and so on and so forth that many people follow, it also becomes a gathering, virtual and very flexible I would say, available resources 24/7 and all kinds of wonders that modern life technology brings to us and as a result of it enriches our lives on a day to day basis. So, this winter season, I am getting cozy with my favorite sweater, a comfy blaket and some past issues from this amazing magazine, VegNews and just enjoying some wonderful, peaceful time for myself to be with myself, get connected with my truth and be grateful once more for choosing this amazing and wonderful raw vegan lifestyle. For me it is all about constantly reminding myself and celebrating myself for how far I have already come so far and then I can find the resources to go even further and embrace the journey of personal and spiritual healing and growing on a day to day basis.
