Well, it’s almost Christmas time and the winter holiday season is right around the corner or even, for some of us, already ongoing. Yu-hu! For me personally, I still have one more work day and then it’s officially holiday for the rest of the year and I cannot wait. It’s been the first year since college, when I actually decided to take off some time for myself during the holiday season. I am really not doing anything special, just chilling at home, comfy and cozy with my two amazing dogs. So basically, all I want for Christmas this year is quiet time for myself, peace and good vibes. That’s all. I know, it sounds like old people stuff, but in fact, it is what we all need from time to time, some quality time for ourselves to recharge and refocus on what matters and what serves us most in order to be truly and fully happy and fulfilled on a long term basis.

I also noticed, that this year, I am not so excited about the Christmas and holiday thing, I usually get in the mood and really enjoy the decorations, the Christmasy vibes, the city lights and special events and so on and so forth, but this year (probably as a result of my nervous system being so overwhelmed with adapting and adjusting to various life changes and events), I am not so much “in the mood” for Christmas. But, even though I may not be so merry and joyful, I am 100 % sure that I am going to have a great time, at home, just resting and chilling for the holiday season. In fact, I did have some fun times in the previous weeks, as I went out to the Christmas market and other seasonal activities, its been quit fun, so I would say it’s ok overall. Things do change with time, and we may notice that some of the things that used to get us super excited and joyful no longer make us feel so great anymore, but that is just life, constantly shifting, changing and evolving.

Its pretty much like when you are teenager and you want to party all the time and you are actually enjoying the whole experience, but then, with time things change and we find other passions, hobbies and we tend to shift our focus onto different things that are actually currently serving our purpose and our unique and wonderful goals. Its wonderful to move through life with mindful intentions and with a sense of purpose, but its also great to always leave some room for the unknown and just let it be, so that when it happens, we can actually let go of trying to control things and simply move with the flow. This is pretty much how I get to see those things lately, I am working on being mindful and intentional, as well as doing my best to leave some room and some open – flexible mindset for the uncertainty that might for sure come, at some point.

As I was wondering through the crowds at the Christmas Market this year, I got to ask myself, what is it actually that we are all searching for in life, after all? Isn’t it something that is meaningful and with purpose? Inside each and every one of our desires for material things or other kinds of things, like experiences, validation, connection and so on, istnt there one’s search for meaning? I do believe that behind all the marketing strategies and the things that get to actually catch our attention and keep us hooked along the way, there is this simple desire for things to somehow make sense, make something work, make something meaningful and make it worth it our time and energy for the long run. I hope you enjoyed today’s discussion topic and I also humbly hope that it gently inspires you to think about what does it actually mean for you to live life fully, meaningfully, and with purpose, ease and grace?
