My Favourite Place

I do not know exactly why, but there is simply something about this place that makes me feel like home. It’s just a shift that happened quite recently, I would say, as I would normally see it, most likely, as a touristic destination previously. There is also the idea that since I grew up near the seaside and that kind of set up, that used to be my so called home “background”, I would normally find myself really drawn towards that kind of environment as a “familiar space”. Of course both settings are great destinations for both relaxation and fresh air, as well as recharging our batteries, especially when the weather is nice as well as when they are (for my personal taste) preferably not too crowded, it’s just so great to simply get to spend some time outdoors, in nature.

I am pretty sure that something changed for me, slowly and gradually over the years, as I have been for many many years feeling like I no longer belong to a certain place or space, as I was navigating going away from home for my studies at first and then continued to live apart from my family, it felt like I no longer have a home, so to speak. Of course there have been some adjustments and as I have written in some previous posts on similar topics, and I did find myself a place to call home, but I also do have a firm and profound belief that home is not just a physical space that feels cozy and warm, but also a mental way of seeing things, as well as a way of feeling things, that “feeling at home” its not just about the specific design, although that is quite important as well, but mostly about a specific mindset and a way of being at peace with ourselves and our day to day ongoing lives, in order to be able to feel at home with our environment and surrounding at the same time.

Things have definitely changed and shifted over the years, as well as my own perception of what a home or better yet, a place to call home feels like for me personally. I got used to living apart from my family and as I adopted two dogs in the last 4 years, they have now become my family. At this stage in my life its all about my dogs, and having access to nature and fresh air in the nearby, and even though I am still living in the city with my two adorable dogs, Maya and Lola (and looking forward to moving to a house and have more space for the dogs), I think I actually found my favorite place to dream of as my next home. It just feels right. We will see how things will unfold in the upcoming future, there is definitely no rush, I have got plenty of time to explore other options, but for the moment it just feels so good to feel that I am looking forward towards something and that I found a place that I really love and actually envision myself living at.

Dreams do come true with the right kind of involvement and at the right time and space, but I have faith in my own journey as it unfolds, therefore I am simply enjoying exactly where I am at right now and looking forward to the future as brightly as it unfolds. There is also something really magical and beautiful that I have noticed over the years, all the places that I ended up living at for a while, are places that I visited before and sometimes it was a conscious intention to get back to a specific location, but some other times it was just the way things unfolded naturally, and I did get to connect the dots but only afterwards and recognize that I have been visiting the location previously. Its just amazing how beautiful and peaceful our lives unfold when we simply allow ourselves to just be true to ourselves, stay open and flexible in both mind and body and just give ourselves time and space to dream and be playful on a day to day basis.
